Domestic Arts
A celebration of the coming of spring - and spring cleaning - this volume of poems exalts the domestic arts.
The weather turned warm toward the end of February in the region of the author. She set about to launder and iron some table toppers she’d created. Soon, she was inspired to write some poetry. One poem led to another, and, before she knew it, 16 poems had been composed. Her homemaking tasks were also completed, with a greater sense of artistic realization than she’d known during the carrying out of her domestic arts.
Themes include nostalgia, friendship, heart-to-heart-love, love in the spring, female beauty, love for sale, the human brain, and remembering . . . as part of the arts of domesticity.
